Hadhrat Mirza Tahir Ahmad – Khalifatul Masih IV fourth Khalifa of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community We present below the transcript of part of a Question and Answer session with Hadhrat Mirza Tahir Ahmad(ru), fourth Khalifa of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community, recorded at Cologne, Germany on the 21st August 1996. Transcribed by Amatul Hadi Ahmad Questioner: There are many people who have no inner peace. What does Islam say about this? Hadhrat Mirza Tahir Ahmad(ru): The idea of ‘inner peace’ is something which is not properly defined. Unless it is well-defined you cannot attempt to attain it. Peace is a concept which differs among the different schools of philosophies. For instance, the Yogic peace has a different meaning. It only means that by exercise or by delving deeper into one’s soul, a person finds himself to be without any agitation. So, the absence of agitation in man’s desires is called peace. A similar concept of peace is found in Buddhism as well as in some other Chinese religions. For instance, in Taoism, peace means delving deeper into one’s own soul until one strikes the fountain-head of truth. So what is called Buddha in Buddhism is called Tao in Taoism, which means [...]

Headscarves – Oppression or freedom of choice?
The review of religions (September 2003 , Vol.98,No.9)
In September of this year, a German court ruled that a school in the southern state of Baden Wuttemberg was wrong under current legislation to exclude a female teacher for insisting on wearing a headscarf to work. The teacher in question is a Muslim. The school had argued that wearing the headscarf violated the state’s neutral stance in matters of religion. The teacher argued that the school was violating her freedom of religion.
Ahmadiyyat – its Purpose, Aim and Name
First of all, it should be very clear from the beginning, we are Muslims. Our religion is Islam and everything that we believe is according to the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah and Ahadith of our beloved Holy Prophet, may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. That being the case, then why do we call ourselves Ahmadi Muslims and why have we created a sect in Islam?
Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, may peace be upon him, the Promised Messiah and Mahdi, was sent to revive Islam, remove the customs and innovations that over the years have crept into its teachings and to bring about unity and enable Islam to prevail over all religions. But the problem was that there were so many different sects in Islam. From the beginning of Islam, within twenty years of the Holy Prophet passing away, sects started to be formed as different groups of Muslims, out of regard for their special beliefs and outlook, adopting different names. Two main groups developed – Sunnis and Shi’ites and then from those groups came other groups, despite the Holy Qur’an clearly informs us:
As for those who split up their religion and became divided into sects, thou hast no concern at all with them. Surely their case will come before Allah, then shall He inform them of what they used to do.

Rejection of God’s Prophets – Part 1
Dr. Abdul Latif Busari – Nigeria
Whenever a Prophet appeared in the past, he was rejected, mocked and persecuted by the very people whom he came to guide. Nations that refused to accept him faced the wrath of God and were destroyed, whilst those who believed in God’s Messenger attained the means to everlasting success and salvation. (more…)
Companions’ ardent love for the Promised Messiah (as) – Friday 11th May 2012
Sermon Delivered by Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad at Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. In his Friday Sermon today Hadhrat Khalifatul Masih related accounts of some companions of the Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) which highlight their ardent love for him. In his tenth condition of Bai’at, the Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) has stated it essential that the bond of brotherhood and devotion with him must surpass all other worldly connections. It is essential because in this age he alone is the true and ardent devotee of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) who, in accordance to the prophecy of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) brought back faith from the Pleiades, removed harmful innovations in religion and once again presented the pristine teaching of Islam. He thus identified the true station of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) and connected man with God. The Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) said: ‘I know from my veritable and complete knowledge that neither can any man reach God without following the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) nor can he receive [...]
